In 2008, Saloni Lodha realized that she wanted to create a brand that blended the heritage of the Indian culture she had grown up with with the global life she now led. A few years later, she founded her eponymous label Saloni. She wanted her collections to reflect her nomadic lifestyle and at the same time represent her Indian roots. She draws on her exotic heritage and works with local artisans from her homeland to bring a modern take on bohemian chic to each garment. She draws her inspiration from her childhood and especially from the vibrant colors of her grandmother's saris and memories of summer vacations visiting Jain temples in Rajasthan. Her sensibility coupled with her everyday life as a mother in offices in Hong Kong and London motivates her day in and day out to create a wardrobe for women who want to experience the carefree joy of multiple hues.
